Apply to Coach

We are now accepting applications for coaches for the 2026 Axemen Lacrosse season. 

To be considered, please complete the Axemen Lacrosse Coaching Application by the applicable deadline below:

• A Level Coaches: January 31

• B/C Level Coaches: February 28

• U7/U9 Level Coaches: March 30

Once applications have been received and reviewed, the Coaching Director will contact applicants individually to discuss potential assignments and next steps.

Important: Coaching Certification Compliance 

Please review your NCCP Locker [HERE] to ensure you meet all qualifications to remain on the bench.

Require a course or are you new to coaching and require a NCCP number [instructions here]

It is your responsibility to verify your certification status. Non-compliant coaches will be removed by May 01, 2026.

Coach Certification Requirements

All coaches must:

Be at least 16 years old
Complete only one course per season

PLUS:

U7-U13 Coach Requirements:

• Community Development (mandatory for first-year coaches)
• Respect in Sport - Activity Leader (valid for 3 years)
• Valid VSS Police Clearance (within the last 3 years)

U15-U17 Coach Requirements:

• Competitive Introduction
• Making Ethical Decisions
• Making Headway
• Respect in Sport - Activity Leader (valid for 3 years)
• Valid VSS Police Clearance (within the last 3 years)

Important Note About the NCCP Locker

If you attended a course from 2019 to present, your NCCP Locker may show IN TRAINING due to a known issue with Lacrosse Canada and the NCCP system. If this appears on your locker, you are still considered trained.

Action Required

• Check your NCCP Locker to confirm your certification status.
• Ensure your VSS Police Clearance and Respect in Sport - Activity Leader are up to date (valid within 3 years).

Failure to meet these requirements will result in removal from the bench after May 01, 2026.
